This week’s Fire Track comes to you courtesy of UK band Heartworms — Jojo Orme’s vehicle for bringing the dark to the masses.

One of goth’s rising stars, Heartworms released their debut full-length Glutton For Punishment earlier this year — and it’s already a mid-year contender for Album of the Year here at Greycat.

“Jacked” hits early in the tracklist and wastes no time. It’s the first song to truly grab you by the collar — sharp, aggressive, and buzzing with controlled chaos.

Pulsing synth lines churn just beneath a thick, propulsive guitar riff and pounding drums, which soon give way to angular leads and Jojo Orme's commanding vocal presence.

Tension rises and it all builds into a glorious, noisy zenith.

It’s post-punk in vibe. It's industrial in tone. And it's entirely magnetic.

Heartworms are absolutely one to watch — we can’t wait to hear what’s next.
