Formed in 1999 by Helen Marnie, Mira Aroyo, Daniel Hunt, and Reuben Wu, Ladytron quickly became synonymous with a new electronic sensibility that looked forward instead of backward. Originally released in 2002 on Emperor Norton and later reissued by Nettwerk, Light & Magic was written and recorded in Los Angeles with co-producer Mickey Petralia, marking a clear expansion from the stark cool of 604 into a more melodic, pop-aware space.
