One of the best new acts to pop up from the UK in recent years. Great first EP and great first album. A must listen to for anyone looking for some new post-punk.
Comforting Notion is the electrifying debut EP from Heartworms, the solo project of London’s Jojo Orme. With a sharp command of tension and mood, she fuses post-punk, spoken word, coldwave, and militaristic precision into something wholly modern—unsettling but undeniably cool.
Produced by Dan Carey (Fontaines D.C., Squid), the EP surges with rhythmic urgency, minimal synths, and haunted guitars. Orme’s voice veers from icy detachment to desperate outburst, narrating psychic landscapes laced with grief, rage, and control.
This is one of those debuts that doesn’t ask permission.
