Following the release of the DAF discography boxsets, GROENLAND RECORDS is now releasing individual reissues of the band's studio work. Released in both CD and vinyl formats, "FÜR IMMER," originally released in 1982, is their last release on Virgin Records.
Much has been said about this band: they've been called the founders of techno music, pioneers of EBM, and precursors of electro-punk. DAF are a true legend. While the first album in the collection, "Die kleinen und die Bösen," is firmly rooted in the punk rock music of the period, the other three—"Alles ist Gut," "Gold und Liebe," and "Für Immer," DAF's final album released on Virgin Records—are extremely important (along with their predecessors, "Alles ist Gut" and "Gold und Liebe") for the development of techno, electro-punk, EBM, and industrial music.
"Für Immer" once again features a tracklist of synth-pop songs, boldly non-melodic but not exactly rigorous. While Görl's production is usually balanced on a rigid 4/4 time signature, with repetitive, hypnotic synth progressions and the occasional organic element, Lopez is right at the center, between the guttural spoken-word vocals of 'A Little Bit of War' and 'The Gods Are White', and the Marc Almond-esque crooning of tracks like 'In the Jungle of Love' and 'Fall in Love with Me'.
