A collaboration between Jello Biafra and Al Jourgensen, Lard sits right at the intersection of industrial metal and hardcore punk. This release compiles material from their early EPs, capturing the project’s most chaotic and confrontational moments in one place.
The sound is dense and mechanical. Grinding guitars, looping industrial rhythms, and blown-out production create a harsh, almost claustrophobic atmosphere. Over the top of it all, Biafra delivers his signature spoken-shout delivery, firing off satirical, politically charged lyrics with relentless urgency.
This isn’t polished or accessible by design. It’s confrontational, noisy, and deliberately uncomfortable, leaning fully into the DIY ethos of punk while pushing it through an industrial lens.
