Rhythm takes the lead on Eye Contact, and everything else follows.
Released in 2011, the album finds Gang Gang Dance pushing further into global electronic textures, stretching their experimental roots into something more fluid and hypnotic. It’s less fragmented than their earlier work, but no less exploratory.
Percussion drives the record with a loose, almost trance-like momentum, while synths shimmer and pulse in layered waves. The arrangements are expansive, allowing tracks to build gradually rather than resolve quickly. Vocals drift in and out of focus, treated as another instrument within the mix rather than a focal point.
