Statiqbloom - Beneath The Whelm

Statiqbloom make industrial music that feels less constructed than unearthed, as though something mechanical and hostile has been running beneath the surface all along.

Released in 2020, Beneath The Whelm finds Statiqbloom continuing to push the visceral body music of classic industrial and EBM into darker, more corrosive territory. The project of Fade Kainer, Statiqbloom draws from the physicality of old-school electronic body music while surrounding it with distorted electronics, metallic percussion, noise, and an oppressive atmosphere closer to the experimental industrial underground.

There’s little wasted motion here. Tracks such as “Possession,” “Black Walks Eternal,” and “Stranger in a Strange Land” are driven by hammering rhythms and dense electronic textures, with Kainer’s vocals emerging through layers of distortion like transmissions from somewhere deep inside the machinery. Synth sequences provide momentum, but the record rarely settles into straightforward dancefloor territory. Rhythms fracture, noise swells around them, and moments of space only make the next impact feel heavier.

That tension between EBM’s physical pulse and industrial music’s capacity for pure sonic unease is central to Statiqbloom.
